Online USCF Tournament

Sunday, February 8th at 12pm Central Time

This tournament will use Swiss pairings.

The time control will be game in 10 minutes with a 5-second increment. There will be four rounds. Each round will begin 30 seconds after all the games from the previous round have finished. The tournament will last for approximately 2 hours.

This event will be rated under the USCF online quick rating system. The tournament will be run on chess.com

This tournament is open to both children and adults of any age or rating.

Before signing up for the tournament, please register for a chess.com account

There will be one section for this tournament which is open to all players.

All participants must be active members of the US Chess Federation.

Players can withdraw from the event at any time by pressing the "withdraw" button.

Tiebreaks are calculated based on the Sonneborn–Berger method, after which we use chess.com performance ratings as a secondary tiebreak.

We will be using a discord server for all of our communications. CLICK HERE TO JOIN  https://discord.gg/hDa8PyeVmX

There will be a group town hall Q&A session at 11:40am in the discord server to ask any questions you have and fix any issues that have occurred before the game starts.

Players will not be required to be in the voice chat or stream your screen while the games are going on, but we will monitor the games very closely to ensure fair play. Chess.com has an excellent algorithm for detecting cheating, and we will also do a post-tournament fair-play inspection. If a participant's account is flagged for cheating by chess.com, we have the prerogative to submit the player's games as losses for USCF-rating purposes, or (in rare cases) annul the games.

The entry fee is $15 by 11:59 am CT on Saturday
